Krishna is recognized as the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. The bamboo flute symbolises the devotion to the God by being empty from inside. Krishna is considered the supreme deity. And the peacock feather above his head is the gift presented by king of peacocks to make them learn how to dance.
